About Me

My photo
Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

SANTA BARBARA, CA - SETTING SAIL

It's a cool day with a strong breeze. Dozens of boats have gathered just off Santa Barbara* for the annual Santa Barbara to King Harbor sailboat races.

Boats of all sizes, from the smaller personal boats to the huge professional racing "sleds".

For some it's a fast race down the coast, while for others it's an overnight adventure with a beautiful oceanic view of the stars.

*Apologies to anyone who might have encountered "Sanata Barabara" as the name of this beautiful coastal haven on my original post Monday morning. All I can blame is the early hour I post most of these pictures.

And apologies to Santa Barbara in general. Please let me back in...
