About Me

My photo
Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

THE SUNDAY QUOTE

In sort of keeping with the "October Country" theme, today's quote is from my friend, author Harlan Ellison. At the time he was describing a writer's obligation to explore uncomfortable and perhaps even scary points to a story.

With his permission I have adapted it to my own use. Using a little common sense, of course. This dark and frightening alley is, in fact, part of Vieux Nice, France. One of my favorite and most fascinating destinations on the planet. (So far.)

"You must never be afraid to go there."
