About Me

My photo
Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

TULUM, MX - CHILD OF DAYLIGHT

I was on a photo safari through the ruins at Mexico's famous Mayan city of Tulum when I spied a mother taking her child into the surf on the beach.

To me this speaks of a wonderful innocence and yet, at the same time, the bold reassured stance and willingness to go forth and face whatever he (or she?) finds.

The sun lit the surroundings brilliantly, so I pushed the exposure on this to white out the background, leaving the viewer to decide what the story tells.
