About Me

My photo
Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

MIDDLEBURG, VIRGINIA

(Another small format change. The location of the photo on the daily post will be the title of the entry.)

Virginia is for (Wine) Lovers

Middleburg, Virginia, one of the most affluent old money enclaves in the country, has traditionally been known for two things: Money, and Horses.

In the last few decades the town has seen an increase in tourism based upon the Virginia wine industry, perhaps one of the best "up and coming" but unknown wine regions in the United States, despite being possibly the oldest grape growing area in the Eastern Seaboard.

Come in and taste the wine, then take a glass of your personal favorite outside for a few moments of relaxation, watching the world as it quietly passes by...

...on horseback, of course.
