About Me

Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

FRIDAY HARBOR, WASHINGTON - A DAY ON THE WATER

The town of Friday Harbor sits serenely in the middle of the San Juan Islands, riding the border between Canada and the United States.

It's a stunningly beautiful location, powered by the throngs of tourists and visitors brought by the Washington State Ferry system from the mainland.

Fishing and day trips contribute to the local economy, which, in turn,
gives the visitors something to do when in town.

Whale watching...for Orca...is a major business.
