About Me

Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

Pic of the Day: Morning Chores, circa 1776

Of all of the historic places to visit along the Eastern Seaboard, I find Colonial Williamsburg to be the most fascinating. Full of history and featuring both in-depth tours and vivid re-enactments of events from the earliest days of the republic, this is a full town-sized recreation of life how it once was for our forefathers (and mothers).

Have lunch at the King's Arms Tavern, in the heart of the historic zone. It features a menu based upon recipes from the Colonial days (updated for modern tastes).
