Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK - AFTERNOON AT THE METROPOLITAN

Tuesday. Running well behind schedule after being awake all night.

You'd think that would have helped.

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art has a fabulous Impressionist collection.

Here a group of visitors gather under the watchful children of a Renoir painting.

Pic of the Day: In the Museum

This image intrigues me. I was trying to capture an afternoon in a museum -- New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art -- as people wandered amidst this amazing art and yet doing perfectly ordinary things.

Then I noticed the young girl just peeking around the corner, in a way echoing -- in a modern way -- the girls in the Renoir on the wall.

To me this tells a story.
