Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

KAPALUA, MAUI - "MAI TAI" IS NOT A BUSINESSMAN'S NECKPIECE

From Wikipedia and Trader Vics:

  • 2 oz of 17-year old J. Wray & Nephew Rum over shaved ice
  • Juice of one lime
  • 1/2 oz Holland DeKuyper Orange CuraƧao
  • 1/4 oz Rock Candy Syrup
  • 1/2 oz French Garnier Orgeat Syrup
Method:
  • Shake vigorously.
  • Add a sprig of fresh mint and spent lime shell

There are more modern bar-friendly versions.

Whatever the variation, always a refreshing drink on a warm Hawaiian beach.
