About Me

My photo
Welcome to the online blog for traveler/writer/photographer Steven Barber. Come in. Relax. Take off your shoes and socks -- or any other article of clothing, this is the internet. Have a look around. I hope to intrigue, amuse, entertain, and maybe provoke you just a little. I love to find adventure. All I need is a change of clothes, my Nikon, an open mind and a strong cup of coffee.

Pic of the Day: Time Exposure

I am in no way an astronomical photographer, but am fond of taking night shots in cities and along darkened streets. On a trip to Joshua Tree in the California desert a few years back I turned my camera into what was -- to me -- a near pitch-dark blackness, and opened the shutter for a minute. Just to see what happened.

The large object in the middle is the planet Jupiter. The smaller reddish dot to the right in below is Mars.
